  1. Here's a first for me ... I found this on my mobile phone when I charged the battery this morning. It's from X's mum (I presume):
  2.
  3. "Good morning Code, hoping you're all having a good time. It seems the weather hasn't let up. Our only concern is that X is WARM and DRY and that he hasn't developed a fever of any kind as he had a bit of a cold when he left. He can be a bit stubborn about not covering up, he thinks his body can take it which he normally can but not when his immune system is down. Please ensure he is warm and dry. Thanks Code."

  5. I'm not quite sure what in X's constitution prevents him from regulating his own temperature, given that this kind of homeostasis usually develops perinatally, and in a normal infant should be present by (I would expect) 6 months of age.
  6.
  7. Given this unusual physiology (unique, in my experience, in a 12 year old child) it concerns me that we didn't detail any resources to keep Ethan WARM and DRY, and that we weren't (as far as I'm aware) given any notice that X was ill, and possibly infectiously so.
  8.
  9. In future perhaps we need to detail one leader to keep X WARM, and another to keep him DRY, although it may be sufficient for one leader to wander around behind him on their knees begging him to wear suitable clothing. I suggest we call for volunteers to do that.
  10.
  11. Meanwhile, in the real world ...
